A Wondrous Trip to El Nido, Palawan - Part II

Island Hopping

My family and I went on an island hopping group tour with Islanen Outdoors. Our tour guide, life guard and captain were very accommodating and very knowledgeable. They presented everyone on the boat informative facts about each island. More importantly, they gave us useful environmental tips to preserve the natural conditions of the islands.

Tour 1

We first explored the Hidden Beach and the Secret Beach. We walked across the rocky shallow water, to reach a hidden shore. Then we swam around the seashore in hopes of seeing fish and corals, but it was pretty bare. Nonetheless, it had magnificent views.

After 45 minutes, we made our way back to the boat to prepare for our next destination - Helicopter Island.

Helicopter Island was filled with beautiful fish and other life forms inhabiting lively coral reefs. Once we’ve arrived, we snorkeled around the beach, while the crew prepared and grilled our lunch (included in the tour). We had a variety of wild-caught fish, tuna, egg plant and fresh fruits. It was d-e-licious. My favorite was the tuna-egg plant. YUM!

After lunch, we made our way to Cadlao Beach, where we climbed up to hidden caves and fought mosquitos - a lot of them. I made a mistake of not bringing a mosquito repellent. My legs were covered in bug bites by the end of the day! Ugh

Besides becoming a blood bag for the mosquitos, my family and I had a really nice time island hopping. We liked it so much, we decided to schedule another tour later in the week.

Tour 2

We had a similar itinerary for Tour 2. We went snorkeling, had lunch and explored more islands. After a day break, my family and I toured Small Lagoon, Big Lagoon, Snake Island, Intalula Beach and 7 Commandos.

Small Lagoon - El Nido, Palawan

Tour 2 was just as amazing, maybe even better. We saw more of Palawan’s marine and land life, kayaked through lagoons and lounged on the seashore until sundown. Here are more photos from tour 2.
