Mooney Falls to Beaver Falls: The Journey

Discover two of the most spectacular waterfalls in Arizona, Mooney Falls and Beaver Falls. They are hidden in a side canyon on the southern rim of Grand Canyon, where the Havasupai Tribe resides. Hiking to both of these waterfalls becomes the highlight of many travelers' trip to Supai. It's challenging, exhilarating and breathtaking.

Hikers must journey 10 miles from the Hualapai Hilltop to Havasupai Campgrounds before reaching Mooney Falls' trailhead - but that's not the hard part. Getting down to this waterfall is quite the adventure itself.

Mooney Falls rises at 200 feet and it's known to be one of the most dangerous waterfall to access.Travelers must climb down on the side of a canyon, using installed chains, bolts and ladders. It's safe to say that this hike is not for people who are afraid of heights.

Once hikers conquer one of the most thrilling trails and arrive safely to the ground, they are then greeted with a thundering fall and stunning cascades downstream.

"The Great Mooney Falls"

The journey doesn't end at Mooney Falls. Travelers can continue to explore Havasupai down by Beaver Falls. They must first follow the trail on the side of the canyon and prepare for another three mile hike.

The path to Beaver Falls offers a whole other challenge. Although there are some treacherous areas to pass, uneven narrow bridges to cross, and old ladders to climb, the trail can offer a peaceful and quiet hike.

Walking through this marvelous trail is truly magnificent. Visitors can enjoy a serene scenery of the blue turquoise river and grand landscapes.

Beaver Falls is a beautiful desert oasis, one must experience.
