How to Stay Insta-Ready on Your Next Road Trip

Sharing our travel journey on our favorite apps like Instagram is now an essential part of the journey itself. I love giving my community a sneak peek of my adventures and sharing the memories I've made along the way. So, knowing how to stay insta-ready is something I've picked up after exploring some of the world's most wondrous places. And as much as I want to say, "I woke up like this," well, I did NOT.

Planning out my outfits and prepping my skin are some of the things I do to stay camera-ready. I often do a big shopping haul at my favorite shopping destination in Las Vegas, Fashion Show, for my travel essentials. I love that I can get everything I need for my trip all in one place!

Since many are still uncomfortable with air travel due to the pandemic, many people are more likely to pack up the car and hit the road.

So, how do you stay insta-ready on your next road trip? Read my tips below!

Have your outfits ready

Putting your outfits together will save you a lot of time and stress during your travels. Yes, that includes what you wear in the car.

When traveling for long distances, I go for cute and comfortable looks. I often wear a pair of pants like the Tommy Hilfiger Sport Chevron-Trim Joggers and a plain t-shirt. I'd accessorize it with some cool and classic Ray-Ban Polarized Sunglasses to elevate my travel look. Both of which can be easily found at Macy's at Fashion Show.

As for shoes, I would bring something that I can easily take on and off and be comfortable in as I explore a new place. But of course, it has to stand out like the pair of SKECHERS® Ultra Flex - leopard print, Wild Expedition sneakers I found at the Fashion Show Las Vegas.

The pattern is both bold and stylish, making it perfect for taking grams outdoors. More importantly, they made me feel like I was walking on a cloud. Did I mention that they're also washable? Score!

Take good care of your skin

The second important step to being insta-ready is to cleanse correctly! Let's face it; feeling confident in front of a camera starts from a clean and clear skin. Cleansing is a vital step in getting bright and flawless skin during your travels as it will remove dirt and pollution your skin might be exposed to. Cleansing properly also removes makeup and whole day pollutants from being out and about.

For my upcoming trip, I got myself a TONYMOLY's Peach Cleansing Travel Set, which contains a gentle Sweet Foam Cleanser, Cleansing Tissues, and Cleansing Water. All of which are made of vitamin-rich ingredients that can wipe away cosmetics, oil, and other impurities while maintaining my skin's natural moisture levels – and it smells incredible! I discovered it while browsing the beauty department at Macy's at Fashion Show. Such a great find!

Look at travel photos ahead of time for inspiration

Every destination has a unique landscape and capturing the location with the right angles and poses can give your community instant travel-inspo. Plus, having photo ideas ready will save you time and storage space. Knowing what kind of mood you are trying to evoke and where you might stand or sit will make your shooting more efficient and effective – giving you that perfect post for your feed or story!

If you want wanderlust-worthy shots that will stop the scroll, look up poses you might want to do and practice them in front of a mirror. I know it sounds a little silly, but this will prevent you from feeling awkward when it’s time to shoot.

I always save photo ideas on my phone, and I just go from there! I also like to make a note of the camera angles I want to shoot from – that way I can easily direct whoever is behind the camera. (Mostly, my awesome fiancé! LOL)

Pack up your essential hair products

Since we don't have access to the same tools we have at home, it's essential to bring your favorite hair-care products. Dealing with tangly hair is no fun after taking car window photos!

I'm all about making every minute count when traveling, and the last thing I want to do is spend hours washing, detangling, or styling my hair. So, I love that I can count on products like Drybar's Detox Dry Shampoo and Prep Rally Prime & Prep Detangler to freshen up my hair – which are also available at Macy’s at Fashion Show

I hope you found some easy and useful travel tips in this blog post! All it takes to stay insta-ready is a little preparation and feeling good from the inside out.

Good luck, safe travels, and have fun documenting your adventures on the gram!
